2.5 The Holy Spirit

b. KEY THOUGHT: The Holy Spirit lives in us. Jesus explained that when He left after His resurrection, He would send the Holy Spirit.
c. KEY QUESTIONS: Who is the Holy Spirit? What is His purpose?
d. DISCUSSION WITH REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
i. Read 1 Corinthians 3:16. Where does the Holy Spirit dwell or live? Since we cannot see Him, how do we know He is there?
ii. Read John 14:16-17, 26. What did Jesus teach the disciples about the Holy Spirit?
iii. Read Acts 1:4-5. When Jesus appeared to His disciples after His death, what did He ask them to do?
iv. What do you think the disciples made of the teaching in John 14 and Acts 1?
v. Are you aware of the Holy Spirit residing in your spirit?
vi. Read John 16:13-14. The Holy Spirit has many functions. What does John 16 teach us is one of the main functions? Why do you think this is important for the believer to realize?
vii. Jesus said the Holy Spirit will glorify Him. Why is it crucial that believers keep this front and center in their hearts and minds?
e. YOUR STORY: Share how you came to realize the reality of the Holy Spirit in your life.
